The closest international airport is the one of Fortaleza .
The bigest companies that fly to Fortaleza are VARIG and TAM which are brasilian ones. From Europa, the best way is to fly with TAP AIR PORTUGAL that flies direct to Fortaleza, with a call in Lisbon (wich it´s worth to visit also).

It´s being built and soon will be working an airport to small airpanes in Aracati, city from where Canoa Quebrada is a fraction and which is only 14km far away.

Bus

From the North: from the bus station in Fortaleza there are buses to Aracati of many companies: Guanabara, Nordeste, Praiano. The first and the second offer more comfortable buses with air conditioner. We advise you to take a coat or a jacket, because the temperature of the air conditioner is extremely low. Arriving in Aracati, there are taxis from the bus station, or pullmans that go away from Praça Matriz or mototaxis also.
Only one company, São Benedito, goes right to Canoa from Fortaleza, but the buses are usually crowded and very slow.

From the South: From Natal ( capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte) there are the companies Nordeste and Itapemirim that covers the way that passes in Aracati.
